Art with Toddlers

If you are employed in a state that uses a registry to track professional development hours, you will be able to provide your registry ID (Stars, MOPID, Registry or other ECE ID#) after you have completed the quiz for the course. If you pass the quiz we will report your course completion to the state registry using the registry ID that you provide.

Discover how meaningful art experiences can inspire creativity and support the development of toddlers. Designed for early childhood professionals working with toddlers, this online, self-paced course explores the importance of art beyond crayons and construction paper. Participants will learn practical strategies for incorporating nature, open-ended materials, and developmentally appropriate art activities that promote creativity, exploration, and whole-child development in engaging learning environments. Course length – 1.5 hours.

Participants who successfully complete this course will be able to:

• Identify at least three developmental benefits of meaningful toddler art and distinguish between process-focused and product-focused art with 80% accuracy on the course assessment.

• Select at least three strategies for creating developmentally appropriate toddler art experiences, including the use of natural materials or outdoor experiences.

• Develop a process-focused toddler art activity that includes appropriate materials and encourages exploration and creativity.
