If you are employed in a state that uses a registry to track professional development hours, you will be able to provide your registry ID (Stars, MOPID, Registry or other ECE ID#) after you have completed the quiz for the course. If you pass the quiz we will report your course completion to the state registry using the registry ID that you provide.

Designed for early childhood professionals working with toddlers, this online, self-paced course explores the importance of art beyond crayons and construction paper. Participants will learn practical strategies for incorporating nature, open-ended materials, and developmentally appropriate art activities that promote creativity, exploration, and whole-child development in engaging learning environments.. Course length – 1.5 hours.

• What are some methods for making art more meaningful?

• How can I use nature in my art with toddlers?

• What are some great art activities for toddlers?

Participants who successfully complete this course will be able to:

• Explain at least four developmental benefits of meaningful art experiences for toddlers with 90% accuracy on the course assessment.

• Identify at least five strategies for creating meaningful, developmentally appropriate art experiences that encourage exploration and creativity.

• Describe at least three ways to incorporate natural materials and outdoor experiences into toddler art activities.

• Differentiate between process-focused and product-focused art experiences by correctly identifying characteristics of each with 80% accuracy.

• Select developmentally appropriate art materials and plan a meaningful toddler art experience by successfully completing a scenario-based activity with 80% accuracy or higher.
