Explore the human body and discover engaging, age-appropriate ways to teach young children about basic body systems. Designed for early childhood educators and caregivers, this course explains when to begin teaching children about their bodies and provides hands-on activities using ordinary classroom materials. Participants will learn practical ways to introduce the lungs, digestive system, and heart while making science meaningful, fun, and easy for young children to understand. Course length – 1.0 hours
It helps answer the following questions:
  • When does teaching body parts start?
  • How can I teach children how the lungs work?
  • How can I teach children how they digest food?
  • How can I teach children what their hearts do?

 

Participants who successfully complete this course will be able to:
  • Identify at least three benefits of teaching children how their bodies work with 80% accuracy on the course assessment.
  • Develop one developmentally appropriate activity that teaches children the basic function of the lungs.
  • Develop one developmentally appropriate activity that teaches children the basic function of the digestive system.
