
Understanding and Fostering Self-Regulation
If you are employed in a state that uses a registry to track professional development hours, you will be able to provide your registry ID (Stars, MOPID, Registry or other ECE ID#) after you have completed the quiz for the course. If you pass the quiz we will report your course completion to the state registry using the registry ID that you provide.
Explore self-regulation and its importance in early childhood with practical strategies for helping young children develop these essential skills. Designed for early childhood educators and caregivers, this course examines self-regulation, dysregulation, and co-regulation and explains how they affect children’s social, emotional, and academic development. Participants will learn how to recognize signs of dysregulation and use supportive, age-appropriate strategies to help children build self-regulation skills and become more confident, capable learners. Course length – 1.5 hours.

Participants who successfully complete this course will be able to:

Create a classroom-environment plan that includes at least three features that minimize stress and promote safety, security, and self-regulation.
